  • How do sealants work?...Cover a toy or plate with plastic wrap. Hold it under or dip it into water or other substance such as flour or pancake mix.
  • Your mission: FIND THE PLAQUE...swish food coloring mixed with water around in your mouth. Do this with your friends, giving each of them a different color. The places that color sticks to your teeth is where you haven't done a good enough job with your toothbrush and dental floss. Brush and floss until the color disappears.
  • Taking care of your baby teeth is very important because your adult teeth are copycats. If your baby teeth aren't healthy, then your adult teeth may play follow the leader. So, now that your old enough, you can take care of that great smile of yours.

  • Every day, a sticky, clear film forms in your mouth. It's called PLAQUE. Plaque is made up of bacteria or germs. UGH! After you eat, tiny bits of food are left stuck to your teeth. The bacteria or germs in plaque use this food to make acids. The acids attack your teeth. The next thing you know, you have a cavity!
  • Your pediatric dentist checks your teeth and gums, cleans and polishes your teeth, fills cavities, and cheers you on to become cavity free!
